FAQ
Will I be cooking in the class, or just watching?
We offer two types of classes: Chef Demonstration and Hands-On Cooking Classes.
- In our Chef Demonstration classes, you’ll enjoy watching one of our skilled chefs prepare a full menu while learning techniques, tips, and the stories behind each dish. These are perfect for guests who love to watch, learn, and then enjoy a freshly prepared sit-down meal.
- In our Hands-On Cooking Classes, you’ll join other guests in preparing a meal under the direction of one of our professional chef-instructors. Unless you book a private class, you will work alongside others as a group to prepare the full menu. After class, everyone enjoys the meal together in a friendly, family-style setting.
Do I get to eat what we make in class?
Absolutely! Whether you join a demonstration or hands-on class, your experience ends with a sit-down meal where you’ll enjoy the food prepared during the class.
Can I book a private cooking class?
Yes! We offer private classes for families, team-building events, bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, celebrations, and more. In a private class, your group will cook together exclusively with customized menu options and a more personalized experience. Logo aprons are included for guests in private classes.
Do you offer classes for children?
Yes! Our classes are designed to be family-friendly experiences. Children ages 8 to 15 are welcome to participate with a paying adult who is also participating in the class. As long as your child enjoys cooking and working alongside others, they are encouraged to join in the fun! Each child must have their own paid ticket and be accompanied by an adult who is actively participating in the class. We also occasionally offer youth-specific classes, which will be clearly noted in the class description.
What should I wear to a cooking class?
Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes for safety. We have aprons available for you to use during your class time.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, with advance notice, we can often make menu adjustments to meet dietary needs. Please let us know your requirements when booking your class.
How long are the classes?
Class times vary based on the menu and class type. Most classes run between 1 to 2.5 hours, including instruction, food prep, and time to enjoy your meal. Be sure to check individual class listings for specific timing.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because we purchase fresh ingredients and schedule our chefs based on class sign-ups, tickets are non-refundable once a reservation has been made.
If you’re unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else.
Do I need to pay for parking?
Parking is free when you participate in a class or shop with us! We are located in Calhoun’s Village, and if you park in the Calhoun Village parking lot, we’ll validate your parking for up to 3 hours. Just follow the instructions on the postings in the parking lot area to begin the process and then we can validate your parking once you arrive for class or purchase from our Gourmet Treats Shop.
Is your fudge gluten-free?
Our fudge is made using Calico Cottage fudge ingredients, which are gluten-free unless specific mix-ins like cookies or other gluten-containing ingredients are added to the recipe.
However, please note: while we take care to sanitize all surfaces and equipment, our fudge is prepared in the same kitchen where gluten-containing products are also handled and stored. For this reason, we cannot guarantee that our fudge is completely free from cross-contamination.
If you have severe gluten sensitivities or celiac disease, please consider this information when making your purchase.
